Dr. Steven Rueda is one of the most sought after necklift surgeons in Palm Beach. His attention to detail and methodical technique create beautiful and natural results with facial plastic surgery. Dr. Rueda’s necklifts make the patient appear younger without creating a “pulled” or “taught” unnatural look. To achieve this effect he uses a special technique that contours the internal neck tissues and muscles; the skin is then contoured on top to achieve a natural and long lasting result. Most of the patient’s undergoing necklift have them in combination with facelift surgery for a full facial rejuvenation. This is usually the case for patients who have developed droopiness of the face and neck. However, necklift alone remains a great procedure for those with skin laxity limited to their neck. NECKLIFT PROCEDURE
There are two main kinds of necklifts: traditional necklift and short incision necklift. Both of them improve neck sagginess, neck bands, and neck wrinkles. However, there are important differences to highlight as not all patients are a candidate for both:
Incisions
Made and hidden along the posterior hairline, around the earlobe, extended to temple. A separate incision is made and hidden behind the chin crease.
Areas Treated
Neck sagging (moderate to severe), wrinkles, and bands.
Incisions
Made an hidden behind the chin crease.
Areas Treated
Neck sagging (mild), wrinkles, and bands.
Although short incision (short-scar) procedures are desired by most patients, the presence of significant drooping, significant neck laxity, or poor skin elasticity makes them non-ideal candidates for this procedure. In both, Dr. Rueda uses a special technique of double layer necklift. The inner superficial neck muscle (Platysma) is contoured to provide optimal shape and correction of internal droopiness. Afterwards Dr. Rueda contours the skin to the deep tissues to achieve natural results.
