Hand rejuvenation
Dr. Steven Rueda is one of the most sought after hand rejuvenation experts in Palm Beach. Maintaining a youthful appearance to the hands has become very popular. The hand is one of two body parts (along with the face) that is usually always visible. Its inevitable to look at people hands during daily activities and conversations. Skin spots, loose skin, and “skeletal” or “bony” look to hands can create an unhealthy appearance or make the person look older. Hand rejuvenation restores a young, toned, and healthy appearance to the hands.
What can hand rejuvenation correct
Aging spots
Caused by chronic sun damage and increasing age. Usually show as darker spots in different body areas. Hand rejuvenation reduces or eliminates these spots by means of peeling solutions or lasers.
Loose hand skin
Perhaps the most common concern of patients who desire hand rejuvenation. This is caused by a combination of loss of fatty tissue underneath the skin and loss of the skin elasticity from aging and sun damage. Hand rejuvenation reduces or eliminates loose hand skin by filling the underneath surface of the skin with fatty tissue or injectable filler. The skin is also tightened by use of a peeling solution or laser.
Visible tendons and veins
Visible tendons and veins are fortunately less common. This is caused by a combination of loss of fatty tissue underneath the skin, and thin skin. Hand rejuvenation borrows fat from other body parts to inject underneath the skin and create a padding that avoids the veins and tendons to become so visible. This may also be accomplished with injectable fillers.

Visible tendons and veins
Visible tendons and veins are fortunately less common but very distressing to those who seek hand rejuvenation. This is caused by a combination of loss of fatty tissue underneath the skin, and thin skin. This may also be accomplished with injectable fillers.
CHANGES IN AGING HANDS
The most common reasons to seek hand rejuvenation include aging spots, loose and wrinkly skin, as well as thin hands where the tendons and veins are very visible. Most of these changes happen on the back of the hand and spare the palms. Aging spots in the back of the hands are similar to those in other areas of the body and typically result due to sun exposure. Loose and wrinkly skin generally results from loss of the fatty tissue layer underneath the skin in the back of the hands; it also results from reduced elasticity of thinner skin caused by aging and sun damage. When both of these changes are severe the tendons and veins become very prominent and make the hand look “bony” or “skeletal”.
Hand rejuvenation targets each of these changes to restore a more toned and youthful appearance. The procedures and treatments try to restore the fatty layer underneath the skin, remove the aging spots, and increase the elasticity of the skin.
